Gwinnett's town centers — Peachtree Corners, Norcross, and Duluth especially — have real outdoor dining worth planning a meal around, not just a couple of sidewalk tables. Here are three with actual staying power.
Grace 17:20 — Peachtree Corners
When Gail Johnson and her family opened Grace 17:20 at The Forum in Peachtree Corners, there was no patio at all — they designed and built one from scratch, modeled on the outdoor seating she loved at restaurants in Italy. The result is a stone patio shaded by overhanging trees, surrounded by flower gardens, with an outdoor fireplace and fountain that keeps it in use even in cooler months. The menu leans upscale American, with the Cedar Planked Atlantic Salmon and Prime Filet Mignon as regular favorites.
Taqueria Tsunami — Peachtree Corners
On the other side of Peachtree Parkway at Town Center, Taqueria Tsunami has the only rooftop patio in the area, looking out over the park-like Town Green where the city hosts many of its community events. Owners Scott and Alexis Kinsey built the menu around a Latin-Asian fusion concept, and the Thai Chicken Tacos and Shrimp Tempura Tacos are the standing favorites for people dining on the roof with a margarita in hand.
The Bleu House — Downtown Norcross
John and Maureen Adams have run The Bleu House in downtown Norcross since 2002, and its outdoor seating area — a covered balcony plus an open main patio with umbrella-shaded tables — is actually larger than the indoor dining room. It's a lunch-only spot, open Wednesday through Saturday, known for Bleu Plate Specials like meatloaf with mashed potatoes and a balsamic-and-honey-mustard Funky Chicken sandwich.
Know Before You Go
All three of these are established, independently owned restaurants rather than chains, so hours can be tighter than what you'd expect from a national brand — The Bleu House in particular only serves lunch a few days a week, so it's worth checking current hours before making the drive.
